Mera Peak at 6,467 m is one of the highest officially permitted trekking peak in Nepal. It rises to the South of Everest and dominates the watershed between the heavily wooded Valleys of the Hinku and Hongu Drangkas. The trail reaching base camp passes through pristine forest and provides some great views of the Himalayas. From the summit of it, you can have stunning views of Kanchenjunga (8,586 m), Makalu(8,463 m) in the east, Everest(8,848 m) and Lhotse(8,516 m) to the north, and Ama Dablam and Cho Oyu (8,463 m)to the west. Also the view of sunrise on Everest and Kanchenjunga from the Mera Peak upper slope is mesmerizing.
Mera Peak graded alpine PD is physically demanding due to altitude but on terms of climbing it is a non-technical straightforward climb. The trip begins with short and exciting flight to the mountain airstrip at Lukla and continues through the high and lovely Hinku Valley. The ascent to Mera Peak from the Mera La is gradual and sustained, and there is relatively steep section to Mera’s central summit of around 40 degrees. In case if there is lot of snowfall the route can be long and difficult. This trip is ideal for those with moderate mountaineering experience, a good level of fitness and having keen sense of adventure.
Day 01: On your Arrival, transfer to Hotel.
Day 02: City Sightseeing in Kathmandu
Day03: Drive to Basishahar (760m) –Syange (1100m)
Day0 4: Trek Syange- Dharapani (1860m).
Day 05: Trek Dharapani- Chame (2670m).
Day 06: Trek Chame- Pisang (2670m).
Day07: Trek Pisang –Gharu-Nwgal- Manang (3540m).
Day 08: Trek Manang (3540m) – Day hike (B, L, D)
Day 09: Trek Manang- Ledar (4200m).
Day 10: Trek Ledar –Throng- pPhedi(4460m).
Day 11: Trek Thorung- Phedi- Muktinath (3760m).
Day 12: Trek Muktinath- Marpha (2720m).
Day 13: Driving by Jeep/bus from Marpha – Tatopani (1190m),
Day 14: Trek Tatopani- Ghorepani (2850m).
Day 15: Trek Ghorepani – Hile (3100m).
Day 16: Trek Hile (1430m) -Birethati (1025m).
Day 17: Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel
Day 18: Leisure
Day 19: Departures to international airport
