Today you have free time for organize trekking gear ,if you haven't.And for that if you need any help
Today we have a very early flight (approx.6:30 am), so transfer to airport to board your flight. This sometimes involves a period of waiting around, so remember to pack a book in your daypack. The scenic flight to lukla is about 40 minutes. If the weather is good, the views of the Himalayas are amazing from the small plane. After breakfast in lukla (2810 m), there is a short safety talk and introduction to our porters and other staff. Then we gear up and start our trek. Today is a fairly gentle walk, following the Dudh Kosi River or River of Milk, because glacier melt-water makes it appear pale. One of the first thing you ll notice as you start trekking are the differences between the Newari people of Kathmandu Valley and the local Sherpa people, who migrated from Tibet 510 years ago. Their dress is similar to the Tibetans and their language is closely related too, Approximately three-hours to Phakding.
Today after breakfast at Phakding, we trek approx. 6:30 hours to Namche , lunch on the way, and we will be following the Dudh Kosi river all the way till lunch. After lunch it is a gentle walk till the last suspension bridge. Then you will start noticing the altitude as we begin to climb. Here you will learn how to walk at high altitude by watching the local porters with their heavy loads. Today, we will get our first glimpse of Everest.Namche is the administrative centre of the Khumbu region. This will be the last time to check your equipment and hire any additional gear for high altitude.
Today is an acclimatisation day where we will also visit the local museum and surrounding village. The best way to acclimatise is to do a strenuous walk up to high altitude then come back down to sleep. Remember- its doesnt matter how fit you are, anyone can be affected by altitude, so chat with your doctor before you leave, talk about symptoms and what to expect.
Today we trek for about 6 hours to reach Tangboche. The trail offers you a stunning views of Everest, Lotse, Nuptse, Amadablam, Thamserku mountains and we approach the holy ground of Tangboche, with its wonderful gompa (monastery). This is the traditional site where expiditions to the mountains receive their blessing from the high Lama. This is the place from where one of the best mountain panoramas can be viewed.
Trekking about 6 hours from Tangboche, we follow the valley, passing through Pangboche village, which has one of the oldest monastery in Khumbu region. Some years back, this monastery used to have a famous Yati scalp'(the mythical animal) . From now on you are really in high altitude country. Barley is the only crop that grows up here. We walk on to Dingboche, a picturesque village just under the Amadablam mountain. Dingboche is a summer village, used by Sherpas to look after their herds in the summer month, and it offers outstanding views of the mountains of Amadablam, Thamserku, Khangtega, Lotse, Nuptse, Tabuche and the Iceland peak.
Today is another acclimatisation day, we take a days hike to Nagarstang hill, not all the way to top, but half way, climbing about 300 metres from Dingboche, and back before lunch, then we have free time to take rest. We will sleep the night here.
The trek to Labuche is about five hours, bringing us close to our ultimate goal. There are views of the Khumbu icefall. We will be passing frozen rivers where stone houses sit in an icy wilderness of stunning beauty.
From Labuche we start early and get to Gorakshep for an early lunch. Then we head up to Everest basecamp. During the main climbing season, you will see the encampments of expeditions from all over the world whose common aim is to make successful ascents of the worlds highest mountain. After spending some time at basecamp we go back down to our lodge at Gorakshep (5180 m). Here we have astonishing views over the Himalayas.
Today, there is an opportunity to make the steady climb to the lofty summit of Kalapathar (5550m). Most people who are fit and have acclimatised without problems (generally at least half the group) make this ascent. The views from Kalapathar are breathtaking - far better than Basecamp itself. Everest, Nuptse, Lotse, and lot of other peaks are visible. After descending from the peak, you continue your descent to Orsho (4100 m).
Today, we descend through Imja valley. We see the landscape is greener and walk through alpine meadows to Pangboche. We come back to the tree line, we walk through the bridge and Rhododendron forests. Today we pass the Tangboche monastery again and we descend down to Phungithanga, continuing our way along a beautiful path, high above the Dudhkoshi river. Along the way you have a last view of the mountains Ama dablam, Hangeta, and Tangboche monastery. We arrive back in Namche bazaar. You are just a bit back in the civilized world. Walking about approx- 8 hours.
Today, we will start later than usual. You can just chill out and, if you didnt have time yesterday for buying souvenirs, you can buy them now.The path descends steeply down to the Dudh Kosi river which we cross via a high bridge. Through Jorsale and Monjo , where the national park entrance gate is, we walk to Phakding. About 5 hours walk.
This morning we ascend to Lukla after breakfast. We will spend our last night here before flying back to Kathmandu. In Lukla we say good bye to our porters and guides. A game of pool have last fun with all crew team.Approx. 3 hour walking.
Weather permitting we take a short early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu on day 14 (approx. 40 minutes). We return to the Kathmandu and have free time for shopping. In Kathmandu, there are many markets for clothing, embroidery, carpets or ceramics. Or you can just chill out.
Todayis departure day, we say Namaste for memories that will last a lifetime. There are no activities planned for today. You are able to depart from the hotel at any time. The check out time from the hotel is at 12 noon. If you are departing later, you can arrange luggage storage at the hotel.Note if there is a bad weather our flight back to Kathmandu, may not go, will give us an extra day in Lukla to relax or do a day walk. Once again, Surya and his team deliver the perfect trek. 2 of us used Pure Adventure Nepal for a trek to Tengboche. We were appointed Suman as a guide and could not fault him for the duration of the trip. He was attentive, knowledgeable and had our safety at the heart of his concern. All the stops were perfectly planned to fit in with energy and capability levels. The routes were perfectly chosen to ensure maximum enjoyment and we were rewarded with great views of Everest. I would urge anyone considering a Nepal trek to contact Surya and remove the unnecessary link of a UK travel agent and I’m sure you’ll have the trip of a lifetime. I fully intend to return to Nepal and there is only one person I will consider calling to make sure everything is just as I want it. PJ Moorhouse.
